"There Ought to be a Law" Essay Contest
I’m excited to announce the “There Ought to Be a Law” essay contest for all 4th- and 5th-grade students who live in the 138th Legislative District.
Here’s what you need to know
| • | Open to all 4th- and 5th-grade students in the 138th District. |
| • | Essays are due March 3, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. (must be postmarked by that date if mailing). |
| • | Essays should be no more than one page, double-spaced, and can be hand-written or typed. |
| • | Winners will be chosen by an independent panel of judges. |
| • | One student from each grade at each school will be selected as a winner. Winners and their immediate family will be invited to Harrisburg/Capitol for lunch and recognition. |

Submissions can be dropped off at my office by 4:30 p.m. March 3, 2026, or postmarked by that date and mailed to:
